Rochelle Yeend’s unique hip hop choreography is characterised by her passion, calm nature and her up beat spirit. Her patience and love of dance transcends through her students when they hit stage and in the rehearsal room. I have witnessed many workshops by Rock and have seen students thrive from her challenging yet cool flowing choreography.  I have also seen some students with low confidence sore to new heights and develop themselves as young people. Rock takes a holistic approach when it comes to dance- I feel that when she teaches her classes, they are not  just about teaching the steps. It is more than that! I would like to say thank you to you Rock for making our world better by sharing her creativity with others and shaping young people in such a positive light through her unmissable dance style and true presence.”

After trying ballet, jazz, netball and little athletics, guitar lessons and swimming I was beginning to wonder if my two daughters would take to any extra curricular activity.

After hearing from friends about hip hop classes, I decided to give it a go. So I took both of them aged 5 and 7 to their first Hip Hop class which was taught by Rocky.

Needless to say that day I left the class with two very happy excited little girls. Both started dancing with extreme shyness and confidence issues, but over the next 12+ years I watched both of them develop into elite dancers, representing their state, with not a shy bone in their body.

I love that Rocky fosters such a team ethos. This teaches her dancers to rely on each other and they realise from an early age the importance of working within a team, trusting others, to accomplishing great things.

Both my daughters after years of being on a stage dancing, achieved school leadership (Prefect) positions in year 12, and have the confidence to get up and speak in front of hundreds of people. Both now in their early 20’s have often gone back to dance with Rocky as adults. It’s true when they say it takes a village to raise a child, and Rocky was an integral part of the development of both my daughters during their formative years. It’s so important for children to develop friends outside of school and their friends from dancing in their youth are still with them today. Thank you Rocky for all those years of patience, kindness and gentle encouragement. You have literally helped raise a Village of Children.

“Rock is one of the most inspiring teachers I know. I was lucky enough to start my dance journey under her guidance and when I started my own company couldn’t think of a better person to come back and teach. Rock is passionate, professional and such a warm welcoming energy. Every class is always full of laughter, hard work and awesome dance moves. Couldn’t recommend her enough for any kids looking to dance.”

‘Rock was one of my first dance teachers and the first person to introduce me to the world of hip hop! Having her as a coach really taught me how to work hard, push through my limits and stay humble, which I’m very thankful for. This attitude has stuck with me and has helped me get to were I am today, working as a professional dancer.”

Kim Smit - Past student and Professional Dancer

“I have been dancing since the age of 3, now 14 years and was lucky enough to have Rocky coach me when I first started. Rocky has had a major influence on my journey as a dancer, and definitely has helped mold me into the dancer I am today. She is inspiring not only as a teacher/mentor but as a person, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her. “
